Sew a Toy Book

Toy books were small, finely illustrated books sold for children in the 19th century. The earliest toy books were simply made from folded paper and then bound together with needle and thread. Together, we’ll learn a little about book binding in the 1830s, marble a paper cover, and sew together a copy of a toy book from the Village’s collection. Older students will draw and fold their own books before binding.
