“Spring Cleaning”
Spring is a busy time of year on the farm and in the gardens! In this three- day, costumed program, get your hands dirty while you learn about the role that kids played in helping their families with important springtime chores in the early 1800s. Take a break from chores to try some traditional games and toys.
Activities may include cooking over an open hearth, making a broom, and playing 19th century games.
“Ink and Press”
See what it would have been like to be a 19th century printer. Participants in this three-day costumed program will learn the art and craft of bookmaking, work on our replica printing press, and create their own bound works of art to take home.
Other activities may include carving a block print, binding a book, and exploring the Village printing office.
